Brampton driver Jaspreet Singh arrested for smuggling 21 kg narcotics from US

Brampton driver Jaspreet Singh was caught when his truck was subjected to second examination

BRAMPTON: Truck driver Jaspreet Singh, 29, of Brampton has been arrested for trying to smuggle 21 kg of suspected methamphetamine into Canada. In a press release, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) said its officers, with the help of Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), seized the drug haul estimated to be $2.7 million. Brampton driver Jaspreet Singh was arrested on September 22 when he entered Canada driving his commercial truck through the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor. When he was referred for a secondary examination, border services officers discovered a duffel bag filled with packages of suspected methamphetamine.    Jaspreet Singh was arrested and the narcotics hail seized. He has been charged with importing Scheduled I substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The Brampton Indo-Canadian driver appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on October 8.  This is yet another in the growing list of Brampton desi drug rackets.
