India to bring ancient Saraswati river back to life

NEW DELHI: The lost ancient river Saraswati from the Vedic period, which is reportedly flowing underground in Haryana and Rajasthan, will be brought above ground!

The irrigation department of Haryana has already dug up and demarcated 52 km of area which it claims is the course of the Sarawati.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday allocated Rs 50 crore for the development of the Saraswati River.

As per the government plan, the underground Saraswati will be excavated to bring its water back on ground and develop it as a tourist spot.
