MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan's elder son Aryan Khan, who was arrested on October 3 in the Mumbai cruise drug case and lodged in Arthur Road jail, has now been shifted to a common cell from a quarantine barrack after his COVID-19 test came negative.

The superintendent of Arthur Road Jail has been quoted as saying, "Aryan Khan and five others shifted to the common cell from quarantine barrack in the jail after their Covid report came negative.”

The star kid spoke to his father Shah Rukh and mother Gauri through a video call for 10 minutes on Friday for the first time since his arrest on October 3.

Aryan Khan,23, is prisoner number 956 in the dreadful jail where rapists and sexual offenders are known to pray upon younger inmates.

Giving shocking details of life inside a cell in Arthur Road Jail, film journalist Subhash K. Jha quotes a young  actor who spent a month in the same prison, "A stint there (in Arthur Jail), no matter how long or short, scars you for life, destroys  your self-confidence. You can’t eat or drink water because then you have to use the toilets which are over-flooded with faeces streaming all over the floors. You can’t sleep because there is no bed or mattress. You can only pray that the rapists and sex offenders don’t recognize you because if they know who you are, they target you in ways that you don’t even want to think about.”

Bollywood Life has reported that the star kid is not drinking enough water so that he can avoid using the jail washroom.

Just like any other prisoner, Aryan has to get up at 6 am. Breakfast is served at 7 am, lunch at 11 am and dinner at 6 pm.

A local court has reserved its order on his bail plea till October 20.
