BRAMPTON: Peel Police are treating the killing of a man and a woman, who were found dead from gunshot wounds in a residential area in Brampton early Thursday morning, as a case of domestic violence.

Peel Police got a call from someone at about 2 am about the incident in the area of Red Castle and Kershaw streets.

On arrival, police officers located a 23-year-old man suffering from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound outside of a vehicle. Police also located a 23-year old woman inside the vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement on Friday, Peel Police said this as an isolated case of domestic violence between two individuals who were in a relationship.  Investigators are not looking for any suspects.

“Our service offers our sincere condolences to all those affected by this tragedy.  It is a heartbreaking demonstration of the realities of gender based violence.  It reinforces the need for our community to continue collective efforts towards ending violence against women.” said Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 905-453-3311 or provide info through Crime Stoppers.
