With a population of only 4.17 million, Croatia was the second smallest nation to ever reach the final of the football World Cup. Though they lost to France in the final, the Croatian team won the hearts of football lovers all over the world. Uruguay, with a population of just 2.4 million then, was the smallest ever nation to enter the World Cup final and win it in 1950. Uruguay had beaten Brazil 2-1 at that time. Croatia was ranked 20th when it entered this World Cup. Size doens't matter in football!
