Indian Pakistani marriages: Indian woman Pratima Sahoo leaves country to marry man in Pakistan

News East West LAYYAH (Pakistan): A cross-border friendship that started on the Internet soon turned into love, making an Indian lady doctor to come to Layyah and marry the love of her life after leaving everything behind. The couple tied the knot after the bride-to-be converted to Islam, the religion of the groom-to-be, according to Duniya News. Pratima Sahoo, who belonged to Bolangir city in Odisha in India, gave up her religion, country and life in India only to be with the love of her life. Her family had no clues about her whereabouts till the news about her marrying the Pakistani man appeared in the media. Pratima, 26, stumbled upon the profile of 32-year-old Pakistani man Mohammed Mansha from Layyah on a website and this is how the contact started. The friendship soon turned to love and the Indian beauty came to the love of her life while leaving everything behind. Pratima converted to Islam in Layyah and changed her name to Maryam. The couple tied the knot as per the Islamic Nikah ritual and enjoined each other to live happily ever after. Pratima arrived in Pakistan on 90-day visitor’s visa and would now try to obtain Pakistani citizenship.
