TORONTO: Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence has denied disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein's claim that she slept with him.

"I have never had anything but a professional relationship with him. This is yet another example of the predatory tactics and lies that he engaged in to lure countless women,’’ the actress tweeted on Saturday following a fresh lawsuit filed against Weinstein by an unknown actress, alleging sexual abuse by him.

"My heart breaks for all the women who were victimized by Harvey Weinstein,’’ Jennifer Lawrence said.

Jennifer Lawrence's rebuttal of sexual relations with Weinstein comes because the unknown actress in her lawsuit — filed on Friday, December 14, in the Los Angeles Superior Court — against him says that Weinstein boasted to her that he had slept with Jennifer Lawrence.

Identified only as Jane Doe in the lawsuit by Variety, the plaintiff details Weinstein’s inappropriate behaviour with her over a period of time. She says she was 22 when she first met Weinstein at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2013. She says she went to his suite at the Waldorf Astoria Park City. When she was using his bathroom, Weinstein barged in, pulled down his pants and exposed his penis before her, ejaculating on her skirt.

On another occasion after a movie premiere, she alleges that Weinstein “thrusted her hand onto his penis.”

Another sexual assault on her happened during her meeting with him in his office in March 2013, when Weinstein forcibly performed oral sex on her. She says when she resisted him, Weinstein boasted to her that he had slept with Jennifer Lawrence.

As the lawsuit says, “he expressly reminded her (the actress) that he was the gatekeeper to her dream by claiming, ‘I slept with Jennifer Lawrence and look where she is; she has just won an Oscar.'"

A spokesperson for Weinstein denied the allegations. People.com quoted the spokesperson as saying in a statement that “any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein. Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.”
