Mississauga woman Bianca Sodhi arrested for keeping banned firearm

MISSISSAUGA: Bianca Sodhi, a 25-year-old woman from Mississauga, has been arrested and charged with various firearm-related offences.

Ms Sodhi was arrested on July 5 when Peel Police executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Absolute Avenue and Burnhamthorpe Road in Mississauga.

During the search, investigators seized a .22 calibre handgun and ammunition.

She has been charged with possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, careless use of firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, and possessing firearm with altered serial number.

Ms Sodhi was arrested along with Darius Xavier Schott, a 22-year-old man from Mississauga.

The man has been charged with uttering threats to cause death, keeping loaded prohibited firearm, careless use of firearm, having knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, possessing firearm with altered serial number and keeping firearm contrary to order.

Bianca Sodhi and Darius Xavier Schott appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton to face charges.
